Little Moments

Our lives are made up of busy days full of to-do lists and tasks that when left unfinished will continually get put off to the next days lists. When we look back into our memories we remember the feelings of busy days, but its the little moments that we took for ourselves amidst the busyness of life that forms those cherished moments. Maybe its a moment captured with a loved one, or a gesture or compliment from a stranger. Maybe its noticing the way the moon looks on a clear winter night, or the colours of the leaves as they turn in the fall. Sometimes those little moments, that seem insignificant at the time, become the big moments that you look back on and wish you would have been more present, you would have paused longer, and maybe they become the moments that spark something new.
Stepping on to your yoga mat is like pausing in one of those moments. Its the time to connect to your body and your mind, maybe find inner strength that you forgot you had, and maybe you find a sense of clarity that you didn't know you were searching for. That "after savasana" feeling of complete calmness and relaxation is the perfect time to reflect and pause in the present and give yourself permission to feel gratitude for those little moments that might possibly become cherished memories.
